  • Colin Doherty is a director adept at connecting brands with humans through film, photography, and sound. Nature, light, intuition, and decisiveness play a integral part in how he constructs and engages with film.

    Before moving full-time into directing, Colin was an established production designer in Los Angeles and has filmed hundreds of commercials and music videos for the world’s biggest brands and artists, including multiple Cannes Lions Grand Prix winners and iconic Super Bowl spots (Old Spice, Honda, Cadillac…). Colin continually worked for acclaimed directors Tom Kuntz, Ellen Kuras, Nicolai Fuglsig, Dante Ariola, Frederic Bond, and Mark Pellington.

    This production design experience sets him apart in the creative pre-production process and when leading fellow creatives on set.

    Originally from coastal North Carolina, Colin came up in the LA and Miami film communities for 20+ years, and is now based in the Bluegrass of Lexington, KY.

    Colin is owner and executive producer of Hook Interactive, a bespoke commercial film production company that provides turnkey production services from creative ideation, casting, full production to post.

    Colin is a lifelong surfer, flyfisher, and painter. He and his wife share an amazing son and two wonderful girls.
